A little something about me

My name is Allan Inocente. This is my personal website and blog. The term “akosiallan” is actually a concatenation of the Tagalog words “ako”, “si” and “Allan”. It directly translates to “I am Allan”.

My blogging story

I tried to start blogging a year ago using blogger. You can still see the original site at akosiallan.blogspot.com. It basically is a collection of my thoughts and views, some pictures and personal stuffs about me.

After months of inactivity, I tried to give blogging another crack by creating akosiallan.wordpress.com. Worpress.com provides ready to use templates and tools which got me up and running quickly.

About a month after launching akosiallan.wordpress.com, I had difficulty introducing features I wanted. That’s the time I found out that there are actually two Wordpress websites: Wordpress.com and Wordpress.org. The first one provides a quick and handy blog in a flash but with limited enhancement options available. The second one, I found out is catered for more techy and hands-on users who want more flexibility and control over their blogs.

I decided to move over my blog to akosiallan.com in the hope of having more flexibility and taking advantage of the great plugins available at Wordpress.org.

What do I do when I am not blogging?

I’m a software testing consultant by profession with extensive experience on mainframe, banking and credit card systems. You can check out my CV resume here.

I enjoy reading books, watching movies, DVDs, TV shows, listening to great music, going to the beach, playing basketball, badminton, tennis and other sports. I love challenges and I admire ingenuity, honesty and freedom.
